Begin Your Holiday Marketing Plan Now

(By Elizabeth Tuico) Even in this strange pandemic year, early fall is the time to begin your marketing strategy for the holidays. Below are some tips to get you started:

Plan and Analyze

Holiday planning goes beyond email campaigns and landing pages. It’s also a valuable opportunity to examine your channel strategy. Look at how everything works together. Take a step back and walk through the client journey on your website and social channels. In early January, document what worked (and what didn’t) to develop some quick strategies for the next holiday season.

Implement a More Content-Driven Approach

Offer your clients an extra level of value. Keep search engine optimization (SEO) in mind while creating blog posts and website copy.

Be Prepared for More Competition

Leverage something interesting or unique about your target demographic. Speak to those details rather than going with traditional holiday-related subject lines.

Think Outside the Box

Do something special for your existing clients. Donating to a cause or nonprofit is thoughtful and doesn’t necessarily involve a large investment.

Support Small Businesses

Clients respond to authenticity. If you regularly collaborate with small businesses and nonprofits, share that news with your clients. Do you give back to the community? Don’t keep that a secret. It’s essential to support one another right now and always.

And lastly…be creative and have fun. Even though we’re in a pandemic, the holiday season will still be special.
